Fulham Palace
Trustees have been delighted to have developed the Trusts relationship with the Fulham Palace Gardens, a place so dear to the hearts and lives of Barbara and Philip Denny. The relationship was originally brokered via The Historic and Botanic Gardens Bursary Scheme and The Barbara and Philip Denny Trust is very happy to be supporting Fulham Palace apprentices through their two year schemes.

Denny Trust Visit to Fulham Palace 2024
On Tuesday 11th June Trustees, Jenny and Clara, made their annual trip to Fulham Palace to meet with Sian & Lucy and the most recent Apprentice, Jessie, recipient of Denny Trust funding.
The weather was a little warmer and brighter for this visit being in June compared to 2023’s April visit, although generally the Spring and early Summer this year in the UK has been pretty wet. As always it is a delight and pleasure to meet Lucy, Head Gardner at FP who instantly makes us feel at home as she updates us on the years progress both in the gardens and for the new Apprentice. Jessie Harris, this years recipient of the Denny Trust funding, then joined us for our first stroll around the gardens.
Denny Trust Visit to Fulham Palace 2023
On Tuesday 25th April Trustees, Jenny and Clara, made the first visit since the Covid 19 Pandemic to Fulham Palace to meet with Head Gardner Lucy Hart and the most recent Apprentice, Patricia, recipient of Denny Trust funding.
We met initially with Lucy, Sian and Patricia for a light lunch in the Café, a chance to catch up on how the Pandemic affected Fulham Palace and the people that worked there. We heard how the team managed the garden during this time and supported local residents with produce from the gardens. It was also interesting to hear how events such as the annual Apple Festival and the newer Green Meet are bringing new visitors to the Palace, building awareness and also raising funds.
First Report for the Barbara and Philip Denny Trust by Patricia Stadler, January 2022
My name is Patricia Stadler and I am honoured to be able to introduce myself as one of the new apprentices at Fulham Palace. Having started my role on the first of November, the past three months spent here have been filled with an enormous amount of learning, discovery and astonishments.
Before diving professionally into horticulture, I worked as an event manager, but even then I was spending a large amount of time looking after my numerous plants.
You can read each of Patricia’s reports below.
